Question 1

How does WhatsApp ordering work for my business?

Accepted Answer

We build you your own online store with your menu, products or services. Your customers click your link, browse, then order or book, and it lands straight in your WhatsApp. No app to download, no sign-up required, and no commission taken from your sales. It is the simplest way for your customers to order and the most profitable way for you to receive those orders.

Question 2

Do I need to be tech-savvy to use the ordering system?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. We handle everything from start to finish: your store setup, menu or service list, domain, WhatsApp integration and branding. Once we hand it over, managing your orders and bookings is no different from reading a normal WhatsApp message. If you can use WhatsApp, you can run your store.

Question 3

Are there any commission fees on orders?

Accepted Answer

None whatsoever. Third-party delivery platforms typically charge between 25% and 30% commission on every order, so a R200 order could cost you up to R60 in fees. With Koda, every cent your customer pays comes directly to you. You pay a flat monthly fee, with no commission and no per-order fee.

Question 4

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

Most stores are live within 2 to 4 weeks of receiving your menu or service list, branding and setup details. The timeline depends on the size of your store and how quickly we receive your content. We keep you updated throughout, and nothing goes live until you have reviewed and approved everything.

Question 5

Can I update my menu or services after my store is live?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can change items, services and prices yourself at any time. On the Premium plan, we handle your monthly menu updates for you.

Question 6

How much does WhatsApp ordering cost?

Accepted Answer

There are 3 plans: Basic at R1,500 a month (setup R4,750), Standard at R2,300 a month (setup R5,250), Premium at R3,700 a month (setup R5,950). Every plan has a once-off setup fee and a flat monthly fee, and we never take commission on your orders.

Question 7

What is the difference between the plans?

Accepted Answer

Each plan includes everything in the one before it. Basic: WhatsApp store, Menu setup (up to 30 items), Koda subdomain, Email support. Standard: Custom domain, Unlimited menu items, Branded design, Priority WhatsApp support. Premium: Multi-branch support, Monthly menu updates done for you, Basic IT support retainer, Same-day support.

Question 8

What does the monthly fee cover?

Accepted Answer

The platform and hosting your store runs on, WhatsApp ordering, and the support and updates included in your plan. Your store needs an active subscription to stay online.

Question 9

What does the once-off setup fee cover?

Accepted Answer

The full build of your store: menu setup, branding, connecting it to your WhatsApp and launch. Nothing goes live until you approve it.

Question 10

Which plan should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Basic suits a single store getting started. Choose a higher plan if you want your own domain, more menu items or branches, or more of the support and updates handled for you. If you are unsure, ask us on the discovery call and we will recommend one.

Question 11

Can I change plans later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tell us and we will move you to the new plan from your next billing month. Any once-off work needed for the change, such as connecting a custom domain, is quoted upfront.

Question 12

What is included in a website development project?

Accepted Answer

Every website Koda builds is custom designed, mobile optimised, and includes a content management system so you can update your own content without touching code. Depending on your package, we also include a contact form with email notifications, SEO setup, analytics, hosting guidance and a custom domain. Business and Custom packages include more pages, advanced features and admin backends. We walk you through everything before handover so you are never left guessing.

Question 13

How long does a website take to build?

Accepted Answer

A Starter website typically takes 2 to 4 weeks from the time we receive your content, branding and brief. Business websites with more pages and functionality take 4 to 8 weeks. Custom platforms with backends and complex features are scoped individually, and we will give you a clear timeline after the discovery call. You review and approve everything before we go live.

Question 14

Do I own my website after it is built?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you have paid in full, you own the design and content we created for your website, and your own content, branding and data are always yours. We keep the rights to our own tools and templates, and you get a permanent licence to use them as part of your site. When our work together ends and your account is paid up, we hand over your website files and access on request. If you would like us to keep looking after it, we offer an optional monthly retainer for maintenance and changes.

Question 15

How much does a website cost?

Accepted Answer

Website packages are once-off: Starter R12,500, Business R25,000, Custom Let's talk. A Custom quote is for larger builds such as e-commerce, bookings or integrations.

Question 16

Is there a monthly fee for my website?

Accepted Answer

The build is a once-off payment. After launch you can add an optional monthly retainer, which gives you a set number of hours each month for maintenance and changes. Without a retainer, changes are quoted when you need them. Domain renewal is your responsibility unless your retainer includes it.

Question 17

What does the monthly website retainer cover?

Accepted Answer

A set number of hours of work each month for maintenance and changes, such as content updates, new sections, backups and security updates. The number of hours depends on the retainer you choose.

Question 18

What is included in every website package?

Accepted Answer

Every package includes SSL setup, hosting guidance and submission to Google Search Console, on top of the features listed on each package.

Question 19

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A deposit is paid before work starts, as set out in your quote, and the balance is due before your site goes live.

Question 20

What if I want more changes than my package includes?

Accepted Answer

Each package includes a set number of revision rounds. Extra changes, or anything outside the agreed scope, are quoted separately before we do them.

Question 21

What IT services does Koda provide?

Accepted Answer

We provide a full range of IT services for small and medium businesses, including network setup and configuration, hardware sourcing and installation, software deployment, cloud setup, cybersecurity basics and ongoing managed IT support. Whether you need a once-off setup or a long-term technology partner, we have a solution that fits your business and your budget.

Question 22

Can you set up technology for a new business or office?

Accepted Answer

Yes. This is one of our most requested services. Whether you are starting from scratch or moving to a new space, we handle the full technology setup: internet and network infrastructure, computers and peripherals, software installation, email and cloud setup, and ongoing support once everything is running. You focus on your business, and we handle the tech.

Question 23

How much do IT services cost?

Accepted Answer

IT work is quoted per job, because every setup is different. We assess what you need and give you a fixed, written quote before any work begins.

Question 24

Can I combine IT support with WhatsApp ordering?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Premium ordering plan includes a basic IT support retainer, and we can quote a combined package for anything more.

Question 25

How much do I save by paying annually?

Accepted Answer

Annual billing lowers the monthly rate: Basic drops to R1,350 a month (10% off), Standard drops to R2,070 a month (10% off), Premium drops to R3,330 a month (10% off). The year is billed upfront.

Question 26

When do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Setup fees and website deposits are paid before work starts. Monthly fees are billed in advance and are due on the 1st of each month. Annual plans are billed upfront for the year.

Question 27

How can I pay?

Accepted Answer

By EFT into the bank account on your invoice, using your invoice number as the reference. We do not take or store card details.

Question 28

Are your prices inclusive of VAT?

Accepted Answer

Prices are in South African Rand. If we are registered for VAT, VAT is shown separately on your invoice.

Question 29

Are there any hidden costs?

Accepted Answer

No. Your written quote lists everything you will pay. The only costs outside it are ones you choose to add later, such as extra changes beyond what your package includes, which we always quote first.

Question 30

What happens if I pay late?

Accepted Answer

We will remind you first. If an invoice is still unpaid 14 days after its due date, we may pause the service after giving you written notice, and we switch it back on as soon as the account is up to date.

Question 31

Will my price go up?

Accepted Answer

Your price stays as quoted. If we ever change the price of an ongoing subscription, we give you at least 30 days written notice first.

Question 32

Is there a long-term contract?

Accepted Answer

No. Monthly plans run month to month. Annual plans run for a year and renew unless you tell us before the renewal date.

Question 33

How do I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Give us one calendar month of written notice, by email or WhatsApp. There is no cancellation penalty. Setup fees and work already completed are not refundable, because that work has been done.

Question 34

What happens to my WhatsApp store if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Your store stays live until the end of your notice period. The monthly subscription covers the platform your store runs on, so when the subscription ends the store goes offline. Your menu, branding and photos stay yours.

Question 35

What happens to my website if I stop the monthly retainer?

Accepted Answer

Your website stays yours. The retainer only covers ongoing maintenance and changes, so once it ends any future work is quoted when you need it. When your account is paid up, we hand over your website files and access on request.
